Student Teaching!!

During my student teaching I am suppose to keep a daily journal of my experiences, and while I was thinking about it, I thought what the heck why not start blogging! So here is my first blog and if any of you have ideas for me please let me know!

February 6-10

My first day stepping into the classroom, I was consumed with nerves, anxiety, anxious, excited, and many more feelings. I entered the classroom, and there is a huge banner welcoming me, created by the students, and a bougquet of flowers. I immediately felt at ease and was excited to get started!

The first week I observed the classroom, and got familiar with their routines and procedures. This class struggles a lot with Math and Reading, so they pretty much spend all of their time focusing on these subjects. The begining of the day is spent on the Daily 5 and completeing 2 rounds. I am getting very comfortable with it and realizing all of the wonderful aspects it possesses if implemented correctly. The afternoon is spent on Math. The students complete math problems in their book, work on ACC math, or solve problems on their neo's. I find it strange that we do not focus much on the other subjects, but this is their routine and I am sticking to it!
